Our core expertise lies in designing, testing, manufacturing, installing, and operating industrial process installations, used mainly for treating sewage sludge before or after anaerobic digestion in wastewater treatment plants. The technology, known as thermal hydrolysis, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and produces renewable energy, organic fertilizers, and various soil products while destroying pathogens and other harmful substances. Our systems have the capacity to cater to over 120 million individuals across more than 28 countries. About the Role
In this role, you will turn Cambi’s AI strategy into practical solutions, improved ways of working, and measurable business value by combining business and domain understanding with the effective use of artificial intelligence, automation, and other value-adding technologies. You will work closely with domain experts, system owners, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, diagnose technology and process challenges, and develop solutions that create value across both short- and long-term horizons. You will serve as an operational expert in the responsible use of AI, combining strong ethical judgement, security awareness, effective use of data, and hands-on capabilities in AI applications and agent development. A core part of your mandate will be to help make responsible AI adoption a competitive advantage for Cambi.
Key Responsibilities
Put Cambi’s AI strategy, governance principles, and guidelines into practice across solutions and use cases.
Identify and develop high-value AI and automation opportunities across Cambi’s business processes and core functions.
Combine domain and business understanding with technology capabilities to translate operational needs into practical AI-enabled solutions.
Develop, test, deploy, and improve AI applications, agents, automations, and value-adding tools.
Establish clear value hypotheses and assess outcomes based on business impact, adoption, quality, efficiency, and risk.
Work closely with domain experts, process owners, system owners, and business stakeholders to understand needs, constraints, and opportunities.
Facilitate cross-functional development from initial problem definition through prototyping, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
Ensure AI solutions are developed and used with appropriate consideration for ethics, security, privacy, data protection, transparency, and regulatory requirements.
Analyze processes and information flows to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and improved system support.
Build and maintain integrated workflows across Cambi’s business applications, data sources, and collaboration platforms.
Work within Cambi’s technology architecture, security requirements, priorities, and approved platforms.

Key qualifications and requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, or a related discipline.
Relevant certifications, training, or demonstrated technical expertise within AI, cloud platforms, software development, automation, low-code development, or data technologies are an advantage.
Experience translating business and domain needs into practical AI, automation, or data-driven solutions.
Hands-on experience developing and implementing AI applications, agents, automations, or comparable technology solutions.
Experience with workflow automation, process optimization, and system integration.
Experience with software development, scripting, integration development, or low-code development.
Experience working with APIs, data sources, authentication, permissions, and system interfaces.
Understanding of responsible AI, information security, privacy, data protection, and AI governance principles.
Experience collaborating with domain experts, process owners, system owners, and cross-functional teams.
Experience with iterative development methods, including prototyping, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Experience with AI initiatives related to sales, research, project execution, or finance suites is an advantage.
